A Hong Kong company has successfully opened a trade account,
gaining the eligibility to issue Letters of Credit and thereby enhancing the depth and quality of its foreign trade services.
Note:
The trade account is used exclusively for recording trade documents and/or Letter of Credit documents associated with your trade account.
A documentary Letter of Credit is a bank's undertaking, made on behalf of the buyer, to effect payment for supplied goods or services within a specified timeframe, subject to compliance with specific terms and conditions.
Documentary Letters of Credit ensure that both buyers and sellers fulfill their respective obligations during the course of trade, making them widely used in international trade finance.
D/A (Documents against Acceptance) and D/P (Documents against Payment) are payment methods used in international trade. Under D/A, the importer can obtain the trade documents simply by providing a written undertaking to pay for the goods by a specified date. Under D/P, the buyer must make payment before obtaining the trade documents.
